NETRID
adheres to the following standards and
guidelines:
- Bylaws of
Tennessee Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf
- To
provide for the effective use of interpreters for the benefit of deaf
& hearing individuals
- To
prepare, maintain, and distribute a registry of RID-recognized
certified interpreters for the deaf in northeast Tennessee
- To
recruit and encourage potential interpreters for the deaf
- To
encourage professionalism and ethical standards for interpreters
- To
conduct workshops for the purpose of professional development and
public awareness
- To work in
close cooperation with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf,
Tennessee Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, and other organizations operating
to promote improved quality of interpreting services
- To
promote awareness of the need for, availability of, and the nature of
interpreting services
