RID

TRID is a chapter of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf

Welcome

Thank you for visiting the Tennessee Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (TRID). TRID is striving to enhance and promote interpreting services in the Volunteer State. On our website you will find valuable information, such as the CMP forms. Please take your time while visiting us. If there is anything we can do for you, please contact us.

Objectives

1. To provide for the effective use of interpreters and transliterators for the mutual benefit of deaf and hearing individuals.

2. To prepare, maintain, and distribute a registry of RID recognized certified interpreters for the deaf in the state of Tennessee.

3. To recruit and encourage potential interpreters for the D/deaf and hard of hearing.

4. To encourage professionalism and ethical standards for interpreters.

5. To conduct workshops for the purpose of exchanging ideas, opinions, knowledge and current research concerning the interpreting field and D/deaf and hard of hearing communities.

6. To work in close cooperation with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc., and other organizations operating to promote improvement of the quality of interpreting services that serve people who are D/deaf and hard of hearing in various circumstances.

7. To promote awareness among people who are D/deaf and the general public of the need for, availability of, and the nature of interpreting services.
