The DHSS has a long history of graduate level education through our Ph.D. programs in communication sciences, our master's program in speech-language pathology, and our Au.D. program. This interdisciplinary approach to teacher training, by combining some core courses with speech-language pathology and audiology students, is unique to our Vanderbilt program. The Hearing School in our National Center for Childhood Deafness and Family Communication serves as the professional development school for the DHSS deaf education program. This auditory oral school for children who are deaf or hard of hearing is known for its outstanding work in the areas of speech development, auditory training, cochlear implant habilitation, language and reading.
Additional Info / Helpful Skills: As the result of a generous foundation grant, we are able to offer our successful applicants (i.e., those accepted into our program) a 100% tuition scholarship.
